Infant Feeding: 6 day old infants especially if they are breast fed usually have a prolonged period between defecation. Assuming he has passed meconium(first stool) after birth, this prolonged period is expected. Keep a diary and note down the periods between defecation. They usually feed every 2 to 4 hours. If you feel that he is gone off his feeds, a exam by a physician would help.
