Headache: While headache is a common side effect of Venlafaxine, every Severe headache should be evaluated. Yes, call your doctor. If you are unable to reach your doctor right away, go to your nearest ER. Just because something is a known side effect, doesn't mean you should ignore it.

Adverse events: Many medications can cause headaches as side effects, and your medicine could do this. Yes, talk to your doctor and see if alternative medication is better tolerated.
