Cold turkey?: Did you stop taking it cold turkey? If so, that is not advisable with any antidepressant ... Always better to titrate down on the dose over 2 weeks or so depending on how you tolerate the adjustment to your brain chemistry. Give a call to your doctor to ensure that something else isn't going on. Hope that helps!

Going off Effexor (venlafaxine): Let's assume your doctors have good reasons. But it could entail a discontinuation syndrome, if your doctor doesn't do it right. Make sure you have the correct tapering instructions. It could also result in your re-experiencing symptoms that Effexor (venlafaxine) was treating. Your doctor should be ready with an alternative medicine.
