A member asked:

What is a plastic anemia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Aplastic anemia: The red cells aren't being made. A- means "not", -plastic means shape / form. No red cells are taking shape, even little immature ones. This can result from meds, autoimmunity, or a variety of other illnesses. If you're given the diagnosis, you'll want a hematologist to manage you.
