Folliculits: The most common cause of folliculitis is a bacteria called staphylococcus aureus which is treated with oral antibiotics or topical antibiotics both of which are by prescription.

Yes.: Good hygiene is very important. For treatment applying topical OTC antibiotic may help. Some times you need Oral AB Rx.
