No, if you are: SURE that it was ganglion cyst, diagnosed by a doctor. It might recur, but treatment is aspiration and steroid injection. Surgery is option if it for pain or cosmesis.

Yes: I would definitely cancel the appointment. If it does not come back, you don't need to see a doctor. If it comes back, you can make an appointment in the future. A ganglion cyst is not dangerous and they can rupture and go away. In fact. Years ago they used to hit it with a bible to try to get it to rupture as a way to try to get rid of it.
