Gene abnormality: The patient should have the genetic assay repeated, but if abnormalities exist, donor egg IVF from a genetically normal woman should not confer a problem. There are sophisticated tests on the blastocyst which can predict abnormalities before the fertilized egg is transferred. This should be done in a IVF clinic with counseling, but it is expensive.
