May be tear duct: If drainage has been persistent since birth this may be a blocked tear duct problem. It's ok to continue out the emycin (erythromycin) for another week. if no better re exam by his physician and definitive diagnosis! Intermittent drainage of a blocked duct may come and go for up to a year! if not self resolved within a year, will refer to ophthalmology for surgical treatment!
