A member asked:

Can i use tobradex drops for conjunctivitis in a 4 month old baby? eye doctor said its ok but everything i read says not to.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I don't: Did the doc evaluate the kid & prescribe it for this episode ? I never use this in an infant, ever. The steroid component can allow certain germs to cause problems, so I limit my drops to antibiotic only . Ophthalmologists who have more experience/sophisticated equipment to evaluate the infection can determine if a steroid drop is proper.
