Inflammation: When a tendon gets inflamed, you will often get an inflammatory tissue that forms around the tendon. Sometimes there is enough that it can push the tendon forward. So you have an inflammation of the tendon (tendonitis). If not treated correctly, this can lead to rupture of the tendon.
