Protection: There are two tendons if one ruptures then you will have a weakness in that arm from now on. Surgical replacement of the ruptured tendon is sometimes possible and you should see an orthopedic surgeon for this. Gradually and slowly strengthing the remaining tendon with low weight exercises may help prevent its rupture in the future. Always avoid lifting very heavy objects to prevent rupture.
