It may: help, but only as long as you take it, and has potential side effects. Diet and exercise are needed. Metformin may help to reduce the basic metabolic problem of insulin resistance. Talk w/your doctor.

Yes: This medication will help with weight loss but there are other drugs as well. talk to your doctor or look up the ASBP website for a bariatrician close to you.
