Depends: Strange question. A blow to the temple could kill someone if it were strong enough, just as a blow to any part of the head could kill someone. If there are lingering symptoms following any head injury, urgent medical care should be sought.

Not at all: The danger with being hit in the temple is that it is an area of the skull which is rather thin and major blood vessels are located right around it. So if you are hit hard enough it can cause a skull fracture and traumatize the brain and local blood vessels. Symptom wise, you may feel a "dent" in the skull, have severe headaches, be confused or even lose consciousness.
