Varies: There are a number of possibilities, I would not hesitate to be seen. Potential causes can include pain at the rib bone/ cartilage junction (costochondritis), a thoracic radiculopathy, pleurisy, or from an organ just under the rib such as the liver, lung, gall bladder, stomach, etc. don't hesitate to be seen.
