Possible: Usually a follicle size between 16 to 30 mm is suggestive of ovulation on ultrasound. The average follicle before rupture is 20-25 mm. Serial sonogram is better than a single measurement. The transvaginal approach is preferred to the abdominal approach since it may produce a higher resolution. There is also user error depending on who is doing the ultrasound. Therefore, ovulation is possible.
