It may: Turmeric is a spice used in Curry. Turmeric contains Curcumin which has been used to treat a multitude of conditions. It is an antioxidant wi anti-inflammatory effects. Research suggests it may be beneficial to reduce pain of osteoarthritis & GI stomach distress, to decrease risk of cardiovascular disease, help prevent colorectal cancer, assist with brain function & with depression.

Helps if right form: Some of my colleagues here appear unaware that there are research studies proving curcumin, a turmeric extract, to be effective for both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. But just eating turmeric is unlikely to be effective; I advise standardized extracts that combine it with phospholipids or bioperine to enhance absorption. See https://tinyurl.com/y64ywdjq
