Maybe: Curcumin is an antioxidant, however it has not been scientifically tested for arthritis. It is certainly delicious and there's no reason not to use it in seasoning your food. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

Unlikely: Use cur-cumin to season your food, but do not expect it to treat or prevent any disorder.

Helps if right form: Some of my colleagues here appear unaware that there are research studies proving curcumin, a turmeric extract, to be effective for both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. But just eating turmeric is unlikely to be effective; I advise standardized extracts that combine it with phospholipids or bioperine to enhance absorption. See https://tinyurl.com/y64ywdjq
