Yes!: Tachycardia is rapid heart beat >90/minutes. HR varies with Emotional and Physical state. And subjective feeling of rapid HR should be quantified with checking HR at that time for at least 1 minutes. If you are calm when EKG was done then it would not show Tachycardia or any other abnormal rythm. Echocardiogram was done to se if there is any structural cause for your"Tachycardia"

Yes: EKG and ECHO are very good tests to evaluate for underlying electrical and structural heart disease. However, both of them are a snap shot of your heart in time and cannot tell us what is going on with your rhythm the rest of the time. They will help the docs though identify if you are at risk for having abnormal rhythms. Depending on your symptoms wearing a event monitor may help.
