Will take a bit long: Thats is a heavy reaction which will go away but medrol (methylprednisolone) will help it faster IM

No danger: Best for exaggerated reaction is potent prescription steroid. Also note that a single oral dose of prednisone is as effective as injection. How do you know it is an insect sting rather than something else???? Obviously you did not witness an attack. Best approach is to see a dermatologist.
