Benzo withdrawal: usually lasts for only a couple weeks. It is very similar to narcotic withdrawal. The best way to stop benzos is to be weaned off by someone trained in addiction medicine. It may take awhile, but is safer than just stopping.

Benzodiazapines: I haven't got a clue what you are asking for in this posting? Your buddy's best option is to taper down off of the benzodiazapine (s) he is taking - under medical supervision. What kind of relief were you hoping to offer to your benzo buddy?
