It's always advisable to work with your physician when withdrawing from a chronic medication. A slow taper is best to avoid withdrawal symptoms. It's not scientific, but since you're only taking 1 dose daily, at night, you could try 1/2 tablet for a week and if no problems with that, then try 1/2 every other night, then every third night, every fourth night ,etc and off after the seventh night.

It is best to substitute for a longer-acting medication (Klonopin 1mg ) and then taper by 0.25 mg every 10 days. If it becomes uncomfortable, go back to the previous dose and add another two days before decreasing. And remember, you are not in a hurry!
