Should be working: Some patients say it takes up to a few weeks - but the professionals say it is almost immediate. Since it's potentially addictive and can be hard on your overall health, if it doesn't work - don't use it. But NEVER stop any med on your own. Let your prescriber know and work together to find a good way to handle this.

If you have a valid : diagnosis of ADHD-Primarily Inattentive Type along with your anxiety &/or depression for which you take WB & Pristiq, (desvenlafaxine) your doctor did the right thing, starting a stimulant in a low dose. Next step is to titrate the dose slowly till you have a maximal effect without side effects or side effects that preclude its use. If no effect after 2-3 days, ask your doctor about increasing the dose.

When dose is correct: focalin (dexmethylphenidate) is a stimulant that only works for the day on which you take it. therefore if you do not have an effect, waiting will not change things. Speak to your doctor about adjusting the dose. You might also consider switching to the Focalin (dexmethylphenidate) XR extended release for to last longer into the day.
