A member asked:

If a daily dose of focalin (dexmethylphenidate) xr 20 mg was taken two days before detection of ovulation is there a chance of adverse reactions to the fetus?

Unlikely: It's a category c medication, which are largely fairly safe to take. I highly doubt that it could contribute to anything. Of course, it would have been better off not to have taken anything, but at this point, i'd not break my head over that.

Doubtfull: I have seen any literature that lists Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) as a potential cause of newborn defects. It is always recommended that mothers take no medications through pregnancy if at all possible to be absolutely safe.
