A member asked:

Is citalopram as good as amitriptyline for neuropathic pain ? can they also be used together ?

POSSIBILITY: Yes the two could be used together as they affect different neurotransmitters. Amitriptyline effects norepinephrine and citalopram affects serotonin. Just need to speak with your physician and work on the dosing etc.

Citalopram: is a great medication for neuropathic pain. However, there is no such thing as "best" or "worst" medication, only those that work and don't work, based on the patient's individual circumstances and genetics.
