Caffeine effects: Wayne there is a strong correlation between ingestion of caffeine containing beverages and hypertension. Energy drinks such as red bull, etc can cause a young person to have a fast heart beat, anxiety, restlessness, irregular heart sounds with palpitacions, headaches, etc. Is your brother taking medications prescribed for headaches?, is he smoking or drinking alcohol? He should see his doctor soon
