I've had this weird cough for over 2 weeks doctor told me it was a virus nothing he can do about it, is there no help for this?

Cough: There are several non-viral causes of chronic cough, including Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Chlamydia (atypical causes of pneumonia), Bordetella pertussis (adult whooping cough), and so on. If you have had this for 2 wks already the probability is that it will not respond to antibiotics, but a good cough syrup with dextromethorphan in it might help. Ask your friendly pharmacist. Hope this helps
