Depends on the: type of reaction. Generally hives will resolve faster than some of the other allergic rashes. Fixed drug eruptions can take days to weeks as can erythema multiforme (milder form of an SJS type reaction) . If you do not have extensive mouth and mucous membrane lesions, and your skin is not peeling you can stop worrying about SJS. The question is, what caused the rash, the med or the infection?

SJS: SJS gets bad, not better. If rash is not getting worse and improving and you have no troubles breathing, then it should get better. You can take antihistamine. See MD if any troubles with breathing or if it is getting worse.
