Local reaction: If the allergic reaction Does not go on to a weeping,blistering phase(such as poison ivy),the redness and itching should clear within days. Cortisone cream helps to clear it quickly. Obviously you should avoid contact with the offending substance if you know what it is as repeated exposures could result in more extensive reactions.
