In the event of a thyroid cartilage fracture with no displacement and no other damage, what is the usual treatment? is there any need for surgery?

Thyroid fracture: there is no need for any intervention. Avoid any pressure or trauma to neck. May take PTC ibuprofen for discomfort . It will heal on its own in a few weeks.

Fracture: Have your throat and larynx examined by an ENT. If that is normal, then ice and avoidance of heavy lifting and exercise with weights are very important
