Workup and mgt: There are many conditions that may be related to delayed speech development. One of the more common causes is a hearing defect. I would suggest a hearing test, developmental assessment and speech therapy to assist in the diagnosis and management. Many children develop their speech skills at a later age with normal speech later in life.
