Limited teeth: A flipper is an upper or lower REMOVABLE appliance that has only 1-3 teeth on it to replace some that are missing or as a temporary replacement while something else is being fabricated..like an implant tooth or bridgework. Some people have kept using a fliper for years but you do have to be careful not to break or lose it.

Slang: Dental slang , but commonly used by all, to refer to a removable acrylic / acrylic and wire prosthesis with one or more denture teeth attached to temporarily replace missing teeth. Think of a retainer with teeth. Mostly for holding space and appearance, not for function. Named this because often can be "flipped" out of place with the tongue. Temporary transitional partial denture -- TTP. Good Luck
