A member asked:

My daughter has mild case of reflux (spit a bit) and gagging and coughing. what could be causing this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

GER reduction: Certain foods, activities, medications and conditions that increase pressure in your abdomen can trigger reflux. An over the counter acid reflux medication may help these symptoms, but see your doctor for evaluation if you are not relieved or if your symptoms change or worsen. Untreated acid reflux can cause esophageal strictures, respiratory problems, ulcers and throat disorders.
