My friends baby has omphalocele. what are the odds the baby will live?

Difficult to answer: I cannot tell you. there are small omphaloceles that are essentially a big umbilical hernia. However, many have other problems as it forms at the same time as the heart and other structures such as the rectum/anus, bladder, vagina, etc. If the defect is large, the baby might also have breathing issues.
