Seek immediate care: The risks of getting a blood borne infection from a needle stick are very low, but the consequences can be severe. Get in to see an occupational medicine specialist as soon as possible (or go to an ER if you can't be seen in a clinic right away). If a decision is made to take treatments to prevent infection time from the exposure is critical.
