A member asked:

Do ckd + dm = diabetic nephropathy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

CKD + DM: The answer to your question is "Yes". Diabetes is the leading cause of renal failure in the US. There are 6 stages of chronic kidney disease, with stage being that of patients on dialysis. So a diabetic, depending on the duration of diabetes, the control of blood pressure and glucose, can be in any one of stages 1-5.
