Ask his doctors: Without knowing his full medical history& severity of liver disease, there is no way that I could give you an accurate answer. First and foremost, he MUST stop drinking completely. There are treatments, but if the liver disease is very severe, sometimes transplanation is the only option, and this is rarely done unless he has at least 6 months sober. Make sure liver specialist is involved in case.
