A member asked:

My sister has got ganglion cyst on her knee joint. how is this typically treated?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Ganglion cysts (also known as Baker's Cysts) are synovial cysts of the knee joint. In most cases they are treated conservatively. In cases where they are very large they can be drained but often recur. Very large cysts are best excised in very rare circumstances
