Possible neuroma: If the pain is between the base of the middle toe and the toe next to the little toe (4th toe), this could be an enlarged, painful pinched nerve known as a morton's neuroma. Assuming there is no painful corn on the toe, other possibilities could be inflammatory conditions including gouty arthritis.

Neuroma: Most likeky numbness, pain, and discomfort resulting from compression of sensory nerve to the digit. Alter shoes, wider toes, loosen laces, ice massage, nsaids, padded inserts will help relieve symptoms. If symptoms persist, see a board certified podiatrist for further treatment reccs, which may include orthotics, injections, or surgery as a final option.
