Possibly: Three cycles of chemotherapy may be very effective if surgical removal of a tumor has been accomplished and the chemo is being used in an adjuvant situation. If the chemo is for therapeutic purposes because of persistent metastatic tumor then several more cycles may be necessary. This also depends on the response to the initial therapy where it may be necessary to change the drugs used.
