Conservative rx: Cause of coccydynia (tailbonoe pain) can be unknown ("idiopathic"). Other causes include trauma ( falls and childbirth); abnormal, excessive mobility of the tailbone; and – very rarely – infection, tumor (pilonidal cyst) or fracture. NSAIDs are usually used to treat inflammation. Therapies are usually conservative.
