Anatomy matters: Need a bit more localizing information to narrow things down, Middle meatus syndrome (sinus problem) can send feelings of pain to the top of the head. TMJ syndrome, occipital neuralgia, glaucoma, etc all can cause stabbing pains. Tell your doctor which part of your head hurts so he can do a good exam and narrow things down.
