Why aren't you allowed to bring a cell phone to a mental hospital? it sucks enough being there.

Ask unit staff: Don't expect them to change, but you may get a good explanation if you raise it respectfully w/ unit staff. Generally, they want to create a controlled secure environment w/out any external impacts. Only then can they see YOU and not deal w/ unknowns. Contact w/ outside stuff confuses matters. Try to use even the 'sucky' parts to learn what you need to in order to avoid relapse. Watch and learn.
