A member asked:

I have heard that hospitals will not allow me to bring in my own formula (since i am not breastfeeding). why is this? why can't i bring my own?

Please verify : I have never heard of a hospital requiring you to breast feed. Many operate under the assumption that they fail if they don't convince you to do so. However, hospitals that deliver babies usually care for other older infants as inpatients that are formula fed. They will have formula available for those kids, and i would expect they are available to newborns.
