FIT test: The fecal immunochemical test, while not perfect, generally does not test digested blood from the upper GI tract or from food. It is fairly specific for intact human hemoglobin, thus testing only blood originating below the stomach, typically blood coming from polyps which are more friable than regular colon lining.
