See below: Iga is one of the antibodies that is made by our bodies. It is found in the blood but its main function is to be secreted into our tears, mucous membranes and the like. Iga functions as a first line of defense against infections. Pt with IgA deficiency can do quite well and have no symptoms or can have recurrent sinus infections.
