What is the difference in hypothyroidism in young vs older people?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Different symptoms: Typical symptoms seen in younger people include feeling cold, constipation, dry skin, gaining weight, and feeling sluggish. Older people may simply become more withdrawn. They may actually lose weight because getting up and fixing something is too much effort, or because they simply forget. Any significant change in behavior for an older person is a good reason to check for thyroid problems.
