You Must See Your Dr: Night shift workers have more palpitations and heart problems than non-shift workers. Partly this may be due to increased stress and sleep deprivation associated with night shift work. But also the night shift interferes with your bodies biological clock (circadian rhythm); which in turn is synched to daylight and darkness.
