DontStopWithoutDoc: "Any alteration in beta-blocker therapy must be done under the supervision of a physician." Beta-blockers should not be stopped abruptly as there is a significant risk of acute tachycardia and hypertension along with the potential of an acute myocardial infarction (heart attack). All recommendations about discontinuing Sotalol suggest a MINIMUM of two weeks of a slow wean. DISCUSS WITH YOUR DOC!!
