Inflammation: The intra abdominal part of umbilical cord can have congenital anomaly.....causing pain. Unrelated issues concerning your small intestine also.

Umbilical pain: Pain in the umbilicus May be due to infection or a small hernia. If the area is red and tender, infection is suggested. A small protuberance would favor an umbilical hernia. Your physician should examine you for diagnosis and treatment.
