A member asked:

Why does my hand hurt picking guitar?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It's a workout: Like any workout on a part of the body, playing the guitar works out the fingers, hands, and forearms. Pressing on the guitar strings is painful at first too. With practice, your muscles will get stronger and your fingers will get callouses.
