Which hand?: Are you referring to your Left index finger. Pain while playing, a musical instrument of any kind that persists is not normal. It is usually due to over use of the painful finger. If the pain does not occur right away, you can play until it hurts and then stop and ice the finger for 5-10 minutes. Warm up before you play. If it persists check with your doctor or music clinic doctor(www.artsmed.org)
